SUSTAINABILITY

Rooted in place. Built together.

People, Terroir and partnership

Our oils begin in living landscapes, with the people who grow, collect and distil their raw materials. Working alongside them, we build lasting relationships that connect the quality of our oils with the future (sustainability?) of their origins.

Our responsible practices develop through this daily collaboration. Time spent in the field, clear source records and regular dialogue with our partners help us understand local priorities and improve our work process over time.

Guided by responsible sourcing principles we prioritise traceability, biodiversity conservation, fair trading relationships, working conditions and environmental managements.

Through our own production and longstanding local partnerships, we maintain sourcing and production records that connect the oils we select with their regions of origin and the people behind them.

Sandalwood: sharing value, supporting renewal

Our sandalwood production brings this approach to life through three commitments.

  • Our own sourcing network. We have built a short, direct supply chain close to where the trees grow, working with partner collectors and an approved collection point that supplies our distillery directly. Each delivery is documented, linking the wood to its region of origin and the oil it produces.

  • A fair price based on the value of the oil. • A fair price based on the value of the oil. We pay for the wood according to its actual oil yield after distillation, with a guaranteed minimum price and premiums for quality and traceability.

  • Sandalwood restoration. Every kilogram of oil produced and sold helps fund seedling production at our nurseries in Java and Timor, as well as replanting with our collectors, communities and local partners.
